Meet Mr Ezra. I met his mommy in high school, then photographed their wedding, their first son, Meyer, and now this little guy. I always love our shoots because I laugh so much! This little peanut wanted to be awake for most of his photo shoot, no matter what we tried (other than being swaddled and held)! So needless to say, it wasn't a typical newborn session for me, but I think what we got was sweet and intimate and lovely!

I photographed her mommy and daddy's wedding a few years ago and I'm so happy for them and their new little blessing. Here's a little sneak peek for you guys. Holiday Deadlines...

UPDATE: I've extended Ordering through this Sunday for all sessions that have already been proofed. A 50% a rush fee will be added to orders placed after midnight on Sunday, December 4th

I apologize for not blogging or facebooking my sessions, but this time of the year...there aren't enough hours in the day! Thank you to all my wonderful clients are being so patient to see their galleries.

Here are some deadlines to help you in your planning;

November 26, 27- As the Holidays are quickly approaching, I realize there are just a few spots available on these two days. The available spots for the Saturday and Sunday after Thanksgiving will have an additional $75 fee above the session fee. (additional fee waived for newborns, or sessions that are not holiday time dependent!)

November 30- Holiday orders including custom holiday cards, photographic prints, and wall portraits must be ordered on or before Wednesday, November 30th. Anything ordered after this date, will NOT be guaranteed by Christmas.

December 1- There will be a 50% rush fee for all orders placed after December 1. This includes custom holiday cards as well as photographic prints.

December 10- The absolute deadline for rush orders to have by Christmas, no exceptions!

Studio News: I am now offering digital files and the price depends on the amount you've spent on portaits. If interested in purchasing your digital files, please e-mail me.

Pricing and packaging will be changing at the beginning of 2012. You are locked into pricing if you are a sweetness member or have booked a wedding.

Studio Closed- The studio will be closed December 21 through January 2nd, 2012 to spend time with my family!

November 12th (hopefully outside) & November 20th (studio)

for just $150

This is for the family whose main goal is to capture those few images needed to create a beautiful, unique and personal holiday card this year and don't need a full session.

Details:

• The session will be 15-20 minutes long and will be at a location decided by me closer to the date! Depending on the weather it will either be at the park or in the studio.
• You will receive an online image gallery of 10-15 images to choose from and you can take a peek at this year's card designs on my website, under the ordering link...Holiday Cards 2011.
• With the session you will receive a box of 50 Flat Press Cards (regular price of cards $110) with the design of your choice. These are two-sided cards with a variety of paper finishes, and includes envelopes. How easy is that...all you'll have to do is stamp and address them! They will already be personalized with your names.
Things to think about:

• Sorry, due to time limitations, no clothing changes will be allowed.
• Sessions are limited to core family only.
• Payment is due at time of booking to reserve your session and is non-refundable.

We met this weekend at Elmwood Park for an early morning shoot and this little guy was a ball of energy (which most 18 month olds are!) He ran and ran so I'm sure he took a good nap for mommy and daddy that day.

I talked this adorable family into trying a new location last weekend and I think it worked out well! I love the tall grasses, random flowers(weeds) and the lush green background. It's always a pleasure to photograph these kiddos, I shot their mom and dads wedding back in 2008.

Most beautiful ocean-blue eyes...I love this little ones eyes. She gets them from her mama. We met for their annual shoot in old downtown Elkorn. It was a beautiful day out and with a 2 year old, sometimes it's a gamble on how cooperative they'll be. I always tell parents to bring along some snacks and drinks hoping it'll help in some way if were stuck. I was so thankful when she responded so well to M&M's! We even got her to press her hands together and say "please" for them, I love it!

Miss Abby turned one and on her last trip back to visit Grandpa and Grandma, we were able to sneak in her first birthday shoot! Our morning started out at Henry Doorly Zoo...it was a beautiful morning. Emily and Justin are planning a fall wedding and wanted to do something fun for their engagement pictures. The zoo was a great backdrop. My favorite was the carousel! After the zoo, we met at Elmwood for some cute shots with a balloon bouquet a la "UP". Thanks for letting me play!

We were finally able to find a date that worked for Bronson's 18 month photo shoot, when rain was in the forecast...luckily his mama was flexible so we ended up meeting Saturday morning instead of the afternoon. She mentioned on the phone that Bronson 'might not sit still'....that was an understatement :)

Five minutes into the shoot he was running, tripped and ended up with a big old red scratch/bump on his forehead. It only phased him momentarily and then he was off again. I was worn out! The shoot ended in a puddle of water and by then, we let him at it! I LOVE the shots in the puddle..he's ALL BOY! This first one I had to laugh when I came across because I feel like this sums it up!

This little sweetie was all smiles for his shoot. He was loving the attention and did such a good job sitting up all by himself. We were nervous we were going to have to reschedule as he had been sick earlier in the week and mommy had the flu recently..but he was a champ. Take a look!

Noah {6 months}

Time is flying...I cannot believe this little man is already 6 months old. I met him just after I had Miles and he was so so tiny and sleepy and squishy, I just loved it. Now he's a big boy, starting to sit up, smiling, and even giggling. We had a fun time last week during our shoot. Both mommy and daddy got to come and I'm going to go out on a limb and say this was a much more fun appointment than his next (doctor-6 month check and probably shots) :)

Meet Cameron. He came into the studio for his first photo shoot last week and did a wonderful job. This little guy slept most of the shoot and was so calm and relaxed while awake. I've known his parents for a few years, as I had the pleasure of photographing their wedding back in the Spring of 2009. It was so fun to see them again, this time as parents! It suits them well and I am always pleasantly surprised when 'parenthood' appears to be such an easy and natural role for them to step into. They have a beautiful son and I wish them all the best in life. Here's a few from our shoot:

Last February I got to photograph miss Moriah when she was just a couple of days old while I was in Chicago...and her mommy brought her to me for her first birthday shoot! I had so much fun trying to see what else I could get her to do for me...I have to say, I was impressed by mommy's determination to get her to wear the pink birthday hat!

Winter Weddings

I had the pleasure of photographing 2 winter weddings in January...

Marcia and Lon had a beautiful sunny Saturday to exchange vows. They were surrounded by so much love and joy. The sermon was one of the best I've ever heard. It's one of the perks of this job is to be reminded about what marriage is all about and what to keep in mind even when the road gets tough.

Kim and Chris were married a few days later at the beautiful Magnolia Hotel. This was an even more intimate affair with only 8 others in attendance. It was beautiful and private and I felt privileged to be witness to it.

First week in November...

This past week, the weather was BEAUTIFUL! I could not have been happier with how nice it was and just wish I would have cherished it more before the cold weather sets in...not to mention daylight savings affecting my afternoon shoots.
The first family I photographed last week was done right near their home on the walking and bike trail that runs through their neighborhood...Victoria and her beautiful family met me and we were able to take advantage of the late afternoon sun...

Next I photographed the gorgeous children of a dear, sweet friend of mine. Look at those eyes...{LOVE}

Gwen's 1st Birthday pictures were next! I don't think I can say enough how fast time flies and how much I enjoy watching these little ones grow up...it's one of my favorites parts of my job. She's so stylish too....

My last family session this past week was for a new family who I had the pleasure of meeting at the park. They were the winners of a silent auction to raise money for their elementary school. It was quite the windy afternoon but we were able to get some beautiful images...

Last Saturday I had a full day of family shoots for the holidays and I had so much fun with each family, loving their clothing choices and the beautiful weather...though it started off chilly, it ended up perfect outside! My day started out with Aubrey and her family...she wasn't a big fan of the cold morning, but she is such a doll..here's a few images from our shoot-

Next I had Bronson's one-year shoot along with some family shots for the holidays. This little man is a member of my Sweetness collection and as always, it so fun to see them change from shoot to shoot. Bronson is walking now and was such a cutie pie with those little curls and bashful smile..{love}

My next shoot was with a new family who saw my work at an elementary school auction and they were the sweetest family. You could tell they were just happy to be together. They hadn't done family pictures in a while so it was a fun and different place to document their family. Oh, and I LOVED miss Elizabeth's adorable dimples-

And finally was the Albers family who met me out at Elkhorn for their first family shoot with me. I had so much fun with them...the little ones were super silly and made me laugh the whole time! It was such a beautiful afternoon...

This is for the family whose main goal is to capture those few images needed to create

a beautiful, unique and personal holiday card this year and don't need a full session.

Details:

• The session will be 15-20 minutes long and will be at a location decided by me closer to the date! Depending on the weather it will either be at the park or in the studio.

• You will receive an online image gallery of 10-15 images to choose from and you can take a peek at this year's card designs on my website, under the ordering link...Holiday Cards 2010.

• With the session you will receive a box of 50 Flat Press Cards (regular price of cards $110) with the design of your choice. These are two-sided cards with a variety of paper finishes, and includes envelopes. How easy is that...all you'll have to do is stamp and address them! They will already be personalized with your names.

• Sorry, due to time limitations, no clothing changes will be allowed.

I'm officially done with "Maternity Leave" and am going right into Fall/Holiday shoots! My first shoot of the season was last night with little sweetie pies...Levi and Landon who you may remember from their first photo shoot. I can't believe it's already been a year! We met down in Elkhorn last night...the weather and lighting were BEAUTIFUL! It may not have been the best time for them...we had a few melt-downs as most one-year-olds do...but I loved it! This little ham was so much fun to photograph last night! He has grown so much over the last year..it seems like just yesterday we were doing his first photos and now he's a big one-year-old! And as typical walking one-year-old's go...he was go go go the entire time! It was fun to chase him and see the delight in his face when running away from us.
He was so sweet, he kept blowing me kisses and I'm not gonna say I didn't LOVE that he wanted me to hold him at the end of the shoot and kept snuggling into my shoulder. Awww!

Lil' Brody

This little bean came into the studio this week for his first photo shoot and he was such a little dolly. His big sister was such a good helper, holding her new brother for pictures before going off to play. Brody slept the entire shoot and didn't start to fuss until the end...and he was hungry! It was fun to see his mommy and daddy again because I shot their wedding reception about three years ago. It was exciting to see how their family has grown!

Sweet Charlie {8 days}

One week ago today, I gave birth to our 3rd baby boy, Miles Patrick. He was born at 9:41am on September 7th. He weighed 6 pounds 9.9 ounces and was 19 3/4 inches long. We are both doing great and our boys couldn't love him more! Thank you to all my clients, friends and family who have sent well wishes and prayers.
